What is CLOPIGARD AP 75MG/75MG?
- CLOPIGARD AP 75MG/75MG contains combination of Aspirin and Clopidogrel which belongs to a group of medicines called Antiplatelets
- Platelets are very small structures in the blood which clump together during blood clotting. By preventing this clumping, antiplatelets reduce the chances of blood clots forming (a process called thrombosis)

What CLOPIGARD AP 75MG/75MG is used for?
- It is used to prevent formation of blood clots , which can lead to atherothrombotic events (such as stroke, heart attack, or death)
Talk to your doctor before taking CLOPIGARD AP 75MG/75MG, If you
- are allergic to Aspirin, Clopidogrel or to any of the ingredients in CLOPIGARD AP 75MG/75MG
- are allergic to other salicylates or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
- have had an asthma attack or swelling of some parts of the body
- have or ever had an ulcer in your stomach or small intestine
- ever had the problem of your blood not clotting properly
- are suffering from gout
- have severe liver or kidney problems
- have a recent serious injury or surgery (including dental)
- have a planned surgery (including dental) in the next seven days
- have had a clot in an artery of your brain (ischaemic stroke) which occurred within the last seven days
- If you are pregnant or might become pregnant, you should tell your doctor before taking CLOPIGARD AP 75MG/75MG
- If you become pregnant while taking CLOPIGARD AP 75MG/75MG, consult your doctor immediately as it is recommended not to take clopidogrel while you are pregnant
- You should not breast-feed while taking this medicine
Tell your doctor if you are taking medicines used for
- prevention of clots (e.g. warfarin, heparin)
- Organ rejection after transplantation (e.g. ciclosporin, tacrolimus)
- High blood pressure (e.g. diuretics and ACE-inhibitors)
- Regulation of the heart beat (digoxin)
- Manic-depressive illness (lithium)
- Pain and inflammation (e.g. anti-inflammatory medicines such as ibuprofen, or steroids)
- Gout (e.g. probenecid)
- Epilepsy (valproate, phenytoin)
- Glaucoma (acetazolamide)
- Cancer or rheumatoid arthritis (e.g. methotrexate)
- Depression (selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as sertraline or paroxetine)
- treating inflammation, including rheumatic diseases and inflammation of the intestines (corticosteroids).
- Iron salts (for treatment of iron deficiency anaemia), carbonates (treatment of peptic ulcer and reflux), Alkali hydroxides (antacids)
- heparin or any other injectable medicine used to reduce blood clotting, ticlopidine, other antiplatelet agent.
- a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (including but not restricted to fluoxetine or fluvoxamine), medicines usually used to treat depression.
- omeprazole or esomeprazole, medicines to treat upset stomach
- fluconazole or voriconazole, medicines to treat fungal infections
- efavirenz, a medicine to treat HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infections
- carbamazepine, a medicine to treat some forms of epilepsy
- moclobemide, medicine to treat depression
- repaglinide, medicine to treat diabetes
- paclitaxel, medicine to treat cancer
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
- You can take CLOPIGARD AP 75MG/75MG orally with or without food, and at the same time each day
If you take more CLOPIGARD AP 75MG/75MG tablets
- If you accidentally take too many tablets, contact your doctor immediately or go the nearest hospital
If you forget to take CLOPIGARD AP 75MG/75MG tablets
- If you miss a dose, wait until it is time for your next dose, then go on as normal
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose
If you stop taking CLOPIGARD AP 75MG/75MG
- Do not stop taking CLOPIGARD AP 75MG/75MG without first consulting your doctor
Like all medicines, this medicine also can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them

- sudden wheezing, swelling of your lips, face or body, rash, fainting or difficulty in swallowing
- reddening of the skin with blisters or peeling and may be associated with a high fever and joint pains
- unusual bleeding, such as coughing up blood, blood in your vomit or urine, or black stools
- fever, signs of infection or extreme tiredness
- signs of liver problems such as yellowing of the skin and/or the eyes (jaundice)
- indigestion
- increased tendency for bleeding
- bleeding in the stomach or bowels, bruising, haematoma (unusual bleeding or bruising under the skin), nose bleed, blood in the urine. bleeding in the eye, inside the head, the lung or the joints
- hives
- runny noses
- breathing difficulty
- headache
- stomach ulcer, stomach upset
- excessive gas in stomach or intestines
- rashes, itching, dizziness, sensation of tingling and numbness
