
FUSIWAL Ointment cream is prescribed for the topical treatment of bacterial skin infections. These include primary skin infections such as impetigo (contagious skin infection with blisters or red spots), folliculitis (infection of hair follicles), paronychia (skin infection around the nails) and erythrasma (infection in skin folds).
FUSIWAL Ointment is also used to treat secondary skin infections, including infected eczema, infected cuts/wounds and contact dermatitis. This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
FUSIWAL Ointment is used to treat infections caused by staphylococcal bacteria. This antibacterial cream belongs to a class of medications called antibiotics. FUSIWAL Ointment works by stopping the growth of the bacteria that cause the infection.
The dosage of FUSIWAL Ointment prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label.
Wash your hands before using the FUSIWAL Ointment cream. Gently apply a small amount of the cream into the affected area. Wash your hands well after applying the medicine.
If your physician has instructed or directed you to use FUSIWAL Ointment medication in a regular schedule and you have missed a dose of this medicine, use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the doses to catch up for the missed dose.
Any medication used in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose of FUSIWAL Ointment, seek medical attention immediately.
FUSIWAL Ointment is for external use only and this medicine should not be swallowed.
There are no known interactions between FUSIWAL Ointment cream and other medicines. However, it is important to inform your doctor about the use of any other medications including non-prescription medications (over-the-counter medicines that may increase the effect of FUSIWAL Ointment) and dietary supplements like vitamins, minerals and herbal, so that the doctor can warn you of any possible drug interactions.

Like other medicines, FUSIWAL Ointment can cause some side effects. If they do occur, the side effects of FUSIWAL Ointment are most likely to be minor and temporary. However, some may be serious and may require the individual to inform the doctor or visit the nearest hospital immediately.
