GALAMER 8mg Tablet is used for the treatment of dementia in the case of Alzheimers disease. It is also used to treat conditions such as memory impairment, personality changes and abstract thinking in case of Alzheimers disease.

GALAMER 8mg Tablet may also be prescribed for other conditions as determined by the doctor.

GALAMER 8mg Tablet belongs to the class of drugs called cholinesterase inhibitors. Dementia is caused due to lack of transmission of electrical signals in the brain. The drug acts by increasing the neurotransmitter (acetylcholine) levels that help in proper transmission of nerve impulses in the brain.

The dosage and the drug form depends on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Take GALAMER 8mg Tablet as prescribed by your doctor.

Swallow the tablet whole, but do not crush or chew the tablet. Take the GALAMER 8mg Tablet with or without food.

If you miss a dose of GALAMER 8mg Tablet, please take it immediately once you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

• Blurred vision
• Chest pain
• Decreased appetite
• Diarrhoea

• Shortness of breath
• Syncope
• Unusual weight loss

• Do not stop using the medication abruptly unless instructed by the doctor. Discontinuing the medication may cause the illness to return.
• Avoid consumption of alcohol as it may cause excessive drowsiness when taken with GALAMER 8mg Tablet.
• Keep the medication out of reach of children.

You are advised not to take GALAMER 8mg Tablet if

• it has passed the expiry date of the medicine printed on the pack.
• the foil or packaging is torn or shows signs of tampering or there is discolouration.

• Inform your doctor about the pre-existing heart diseases, asthma or pulmonary diseases.
• Tell your doctor if you are allergic to GALAMER 8mg Tablet.
• Inform the doctor if you are taking any other drugs, OTC medications, herbal products or nutritional supplements.
• Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

GALAMER 8mg Tablet is stored at room temperature (20 25^OC). Keep the medicine away from direct sunlight.

2. Can I give GALAMER 8mg Tablet to my 9-year-old child?

No, GALAMER 8mg Tablet should be used only when prescribed. The safe use of GALAMER 8mg Tablet in children is not yet established.  

3. Can I use GALAMER 8mg Tablet for dementia in case of stomach ulcers?

No, you should not use GALAMER 8mg Tablet if you have stomach ulcers. Consult your doctor for an alternative.

4. Is it safe to alter the dose of the GALAMER 8mg Tablet?

No, GALAMER 8mg Tablet dose is prescribed depending on the complexity of neuropathic pain. Therefore, altering the dose is not advised.

5. How long can I take GALAMER 8mg Tablet?
