WHAT IS HULEZ DSR 30/20MG?

• HULEZ DSR 30/20MG contains domperidone and rabeprazole
• Domperidone belongs to a group of medicines called dopamine antagonists
• Rabeprazole belongs to a group of medicines called Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs). It acts by reducing the amount of acid made by the stomach

What HULEZ DSR 30/20MG is used for?

• It is used to treat,
• nausea and vomiting
• ulcer in the upper part of the intestine (duodenal ulcer) and benign stomach ulcer
• Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) with or without ulcer
• Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
• Helicobacter pylori infection with combination of antibiotics

TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

• are allergic to domperidone, rabeprazole or any of the other ingredients in this medicine
• have black, tarry bowel motions (stools) or notice blood in your bowel motions. This could be a sign of bleeding in the stomach or intestines
• have a blockage or tear in your intestines
• have a tumor of the pituitary gland called a prolactinoma
• have a moderate or severe liver and kidney disease
• have or had heart failure

PREGNANCY AND BREAST-FEEDING

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine

CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS

HULEZ DSR 30/20MG is not recommended for use in children

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

You may feel sleepy, confused or have less control over your movements while taking this tablet. If this happens, do not drive or use any tools or machines

• Talk to your doctor if you are taking medicines such as,
• oral ketoconazole, fluconazole or voriconazole used for fungal infections
• erythromycin, clarithromycin, telithromycin, moxifloxacin, pentamidine used for bacterial infections
• heart problems or high blood pressure (e.g., amiodarone, dronedarone, quinidine, disopyramide, dofetilide, sotalol, diltiazem, verapamil)
• haloperidol, pimozide, sertindole used for psychoses
• citalopram, escitalopram used for depression
• gastro-intestinal disorders (e.g., cisapride, dolasetron, prucalopride)
• mequitazine, mizolastine used for allergy
• halofantrine used for malaria
• protease inhibitors used for AIDS/HIV
• toremifene, vandetanib, vincamine, erlotinib used for cancer

• Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
• For oral use only
• Take this medicine must be swallowed with a glass of water
• Take this medicine before meals

If you take more HULEZ DSR 30/20MG, consult your doctor immediately

Q. If you forget to take HULEZ DSR 30/20MG

If you miss a dose, take your medicine as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, wait until that is due and continue as usual. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

Do not stop taking this medicine without first talking to your doctor

Like all medicines, these medicines can have side effects, although not everybody gets them.

SERIOUS

Domperidone:

swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, face, lips or throat which may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing irregular eye movements, unusual movements of the tongue, and abnormal posture such as a twisted neck, trembling and muscle stiffness very fast or unusual heartbeat

Rabeprazole:

sudden wheezing, swelling of your lips, face or body, rash, fainting or difficulties swallowing (severe allergic reaction)

yellow skin, dark urine and tiredness which can be symptoms of liver problems

reddening of the skin with blisters or peeling and may be associated with a high fever and joint pains

severe blisters and bleeding in the lips, eyes, mouth, nose and genitals

COMMON

Domperidone:

dry mouth

Rabeprazole:

• cough, sore throat (inflammation of the pharynx), runny nose
• nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation, wind (flatulence)
• back pain, non-specific pain
• weakness or loss of strength, flu like symptoms
• sleeplessness, headache, dizziness
• benign polyps in the stomach

UNCOMMON

Domperidone:

anxiety loss of interest in sex or diminished interest in sex sleepiness or headache diarrhoea, rash or itchiness painful or tender breasts, or discharge from breasts a general feeling of weakness

Rabeprazole:

• inflammation of the bronchial tubes (bronchitis), inflammation of the sinuses (sinusitis).
• indigestion, belching
• increased liver enzymes, which is measured by blood tests
• fracture of the hip, wrist or spine

RARE

Rabeprazole:

• blood problems such as reduced number of white cells or platelets. This can cause weakness, bruising or make infections more likely
• loss of appetite
• depression
• visual disturbance
• increased weight

VERY RARE

Rabeprazole:

low levels of magnesium can also lead to a reduction in potassium or calcium levels in the blood

STORAGE

• Keep out of reach of children
• Store at room temperature (15-25ºC)
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
