Talk to your doctor before using this medicine, if:
- your blood sugar is too low (hypoglycemia)
- you are allergic to the ingredients of HUMALOG KWIKPEN 100IU PEN(DISPO)
Tell your doctor if you are taking medicines such as,
- the contraceptive pill
- steroids
- thyroid hormone replacement therapy
- oral anti diabetic medicines
- acetyl salicylic acid
- sulpha antibiotics
- octreotide
- beta2 stimulants
- beta-blockers
- some antidepressants
- danazol
- some angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors (for example captopril, enalapril), and angiotensin II receptor blockers
- Your healthcare provider will tell you the right syringes to use with HUMALOG KWIKPEN 100IU PEN(DISPO) vials
- Use HUMALOG KWIKPEN 100IU PEN(DISPO) exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider
- HUMALOG KWIKPEN 100IU PEN(DISPO) starts working faster than other insulins that contain regular human insulin
- Inject HUMALOG KWIKPEN 100IU PEN(DISPO) fifteen minutes or less before a meal. If you do not plan to eat within 15 minutes, delay the injection until the correct time (15 minutes before eating)
- Check your blood sugar levels as told by your healthcare provider
- Mix HUMALOG KWIKPEN 100IU PEN(DISPO) well before each use. For HUMALOG KWIKPEN 100IU PEN(DISPO) in a vial, carefully shake or rotate the vial until completely mixed. For prefilled pens, carefully follow the instructions told by your doctor. HUMALOG KWIKPEN 100IU PEN(DISPO) should be cloudy or milky after mixing well
- Look at HUMALOG KWIKPEN 100IU PEN(DISPO) before each injection. If it is not evenly mixed or has solid particles or clumps in it, do not use
- Inject your dose of HUMALOG KWIKPEN 100IU PEN(DISPO) under the skin of your stomach area, upper arm, upper leg, or buttocks. Never inject HUMALOG KWIKPEN 100IU PEN(DISPO) into a muscle or vein
- Change (rotate) your injection site with each dose
If you take more HUMALOG KWIKPEN 100IU PEN(DISPO)
- If you take more HUMALOG KWIKPEN 100IU PEN(DISPO), contact your nearest hospital casualty department, since it may lead to hypoglycaemia
If you forget to take HUMALOG KWIKPEN 100IU PEN(DISPO)
- Do not forget the dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose
If you stop taking HUMALOG KWIKPEN 100IU PEN(DISPO)
- Your doctor will advise you how long to take this medicine. Do not stop using HUMALOG KWIKPEN 100IU PEN(DISPO) without consulting your doctor

- severe, life-threatening allergic reactions can happen with insulin
- develop a rash over your whole body, have trouble breathing, wheezing, a fast heartbeat, or sweating
- reactions at the injection site (local allergic reaction). You may get redness, swelling, and itching at the injection site
- pitting at the injection site (lipodystrophy)
