In TELIPRIL 40/2.5mg Tablet, Ramipril belongs to the class of drugs called angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. This drug acts by reducing the synthesis of angiotensin II, which results in the relaxation of blood vessels. Thus, it widens the blood vessels and decreases the blood pressure.
Telmisartan belongs to the class of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs). This drug acts by inhibiting the binding of angiotensin II to the receptor. Thus, the blocking of vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects decreases the vascular resistance and blood pressure.
The dosage and the drug form depend on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Take TELIPRIL 40/2.5mg Tablet as prescribed by your doctor.
Swallow the tablet whole. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Take the drug with or without food. However, taking the drug with food prevents stomach upset.
If you miss a dose of TELIPRIL 40/2.5mg Tablet, please take it immediately once you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
