TELIPRIL 40/2.5mg Tablet is used for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). TELIPRIL 40/2.5mg Tablet is also used to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.

TELIPRIL 40/2.5mg Tablet may also be prescribed for other conditions as determined by the doctor.

In TELIPRIL 40/2.5mg Tablet, Ramipril belongs to the class of drugs called angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. This drug acts by reducing the synthesis of angiotensin II, which results in the relaxation of blood vessels. Thus, it widens the blood vessels and decreases the blood pressure.

Telmisartan belongs to the class of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs). This drug acts by inhibiting the binding of angiotensin II to the receptor. Thus, the blocking of vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects decreases the vascular resistance and blood pressure.

The dosage and the drug form depend on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Take TELIPRIL 40/2.5mg Tablet as prescribed by your doctor.

Swallow the tablet whole. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Take the drug with or without food. However, taking the drug with food prevents stomach upset.

If you miss a dose of TELIPRIL 40/2.5mg Tablet, please take it immediately once you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

• it has passed the expiry date of the medicine printed on the pack.
• the foil or packaging is torn or shows signs of tampering or there is discolouration.

• Inform the doctor if you are taking any other drugs, OTC medications, herbal products or nutritional supplements.

1. Can I discontinue TELIPRIL 40/2.5mg Tablet if I feel better?

Do not discontinue or alter the dose of TELIPRIL 40/2.5mg Tablet without medical supervision.

2. Do I need to follow any dietary precautions while on TELIPRIL 40/2.5mg Tablet?

Avoid taking potassium rich foods while taking TELIPRIL 40/2.5mg Tablet, as it may increase the levels of potassium in the blood.

3. Is it safe to take TELIPRIL 40/2.5mg Tablet while suffering from liver disease?

A low dose of TELIPRIL 40/2.5mg Tablet may be prescribed for the patients with hepatic impairment. Please consult your doctor for the safe use of the drug.
