TENATA Tablet is used for the treatment of following conditions:

• Acidity
• Intestinal ulcers
• Heartburn
• Reflux oesophagitis
• Stomach ulcers

TENATA Tablet may also be prescribed for other conditions as determined by the doctor.

TENATA Tablet belongs to the class of drugs called proton pump inhibitors. This drug acts by blocking the final step of gastric acid secretion by certain enzymes on the surface of the gastric parietal cell. Thus, it reduces the gastric acid secretion and relieves the symptoms.

The dosage and the drug form depend on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Take TENATA Tablet as prescribed by your doctor.

Swallow the tablet whole. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Take the drug on an empty stomach that is 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.

If you miss a dose of TENATA Tablet, please take it immediately once you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Drugs that interact with TENATA Tablet include the following:

• Alprazolam
• Azithromycin
• Midazolam

• Monitor your serum magnesium levels while taking TENATA Tablet.
• Do not exceed the dose more than what is prescribed.
• Consult your doctor before taking TENATA Tablet medication during breastfeeding.
• Inform the doctor if the symptoms do not subside even after using the drug for more than 14 days.
• Do not stop using the medication abruptly unless instructed by the doctor.

You are advised not to take TENATA Tablet if

• it has passed the expiry date of the medicine printed on the pack.
• the foil or packaging is torn or shows signs of tampering or there is discolouration.

• Tell your doctor if you have any history of hepatic impairment.
• Inform the doctor if you are taking any other drugs, OTC medications, herbal products or nutritional supplements.
• Notify the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Increase the intake of calcium-rich foods as TENATA Tablet can decrease the serum calcium levels in blood and weaken your bones.

TENATA Tablet should be stored at room temperature away from heat, sunlight and excess moisture. Keep the medication away from the reach of the children.

3. How long does TENATA Tablet take to show its effect?

TENATA Tablet medication may take few days to show its effect. You can take antacid for quick relief during this time when recommended by the doctor.

4. Is TENATA Tablet safe to take during pregnancy?

Use of TENATA Tablet in pregnancy is considered safe. However, you must consult your doctor regarding the benefits and potential risks of TENATA Tablet during pregnancy.

5. Is it safe to consume alcohol while on TENATA Tablet medication?

Avoid consuming large amount of alcohol while taking TENATA Tablet medicine as it can increase acidity and cause heartburn.
