TIZAFEN 400/2mg Capsule is used for the treatment of muscle spasms, pain, inflammation and fever. It is also used to relieve pain caused by arthritis and menstrual cramps.

TIZAFEN 400/2mg Capsule may also be prescribed for other conditions as determined by the doctor.

In TIZAFEN 400/2mg Capsule, Ibuprofen belongs to the class of drugs called analgesics. This drug inhibits the action of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzyme by blocking the action of prostaglandins. Thus, it results in the increased peripheral blood flow and vasodilation, which decreases the pain and inflammation.

Tizanidine is a short-acting drug that belongs to the class of drugs called muscle relaxants. This drug acts on the neuromuscular nerve ending by depolarizing the action of acetylcholine, thereby relieving muscle spasms.

The dosage and the drug form depend on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Take TIZAFEN 400/2mg Capsule as prescribed by your doctor.

Swallow the capsule whole. Do not chew or tear open the capsule. Take the drug with or without food. However, taking the drug with food prevents stomach upset.

If you miss a dose of TIZAFEN 400/2mg Capsule, please take it immediately once you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
